With 40 years of experience in the industry, Lifta South Africa is the market leader in providing residential mobility solutions to our clients. With offices in Cape Town and Johannesburg, as well as representation nationwide, our priority is to provide each and every one of our clients with the peace of mind that their mobility needs are met with empathy and professionalism.

Our Home Lifts are designed for residential use specifically. They require no shaft, machine room and pit room – as is the norm with most commercial lifts. This means less construction, less mess and less disruption to our client’s lives.

Streamlining the home lift installation process

The unique dual rail system creates a completely self-supporting structure. The weight of the entire structure and lift are in compression through the rails and into the floor of the home. No extra burden is added to the home as a result of this innovative technology.

As a result, our Home Lifts can be installed indoors without the need for a shaft. The benefit of this is that you can avoid the major inconvenience and substantial cost of the construction required for the building of a lift shaft.

Our experienced and knowledgeable installation teams can install the units within 2 days and there is no need for our clients to move out of their homes during the process.

The home lift package

The Home Lift comes with 2 remotes in addition to the control panel in the lift, so you are in 100% control of the lift at all times. You do not have to travel in the lift to operate it – which assists in getting one’s parents, children or even pets down safely.

Our Home Lifts do not make use of noisy hydraulics or any other external mechanisms and due to its unique drive system, the lifts are very quiet and makes less noise than most stairlifts. In operation our lifts have a audible noise level of less than 48 decibels which is comparable to the sound of light rainfall.

Lifta offers a variety of Home Lifts to meet your specific needs. The Duo Home Lift has a footprint of just 0.8 square metres and a carrying capacity of 170 kilograms. The Trio Home Lift has a slightly larger footprint than the Duo, but is just 1.3 square metres. The carrying capacity is 250 kilograms and it can also transport most wheelchair models.

In event of load shedding

Our Home Lifts operate by way of a standard 220V wall plug, using as much electricity per trip as an electric toaster or kettle in the process. This is particularly relevant because of load shedding.

Load shedding has unfortunately become a way of life for South Africans. It has effected us all in so many ways and as a result we have all had to put various measures in place to make sure life continues despite these challenges. Needless to say, this includes life at home and the use of Home Lifts.

We have heard many horror stories of users being stuck in commercial lifts during load shedding and waiting for hours until a technician arrives to release them from the lifts. The Lifta Home Lifts all include a back up battery which allows the user to travel down to the lowest floor should load shedding strike while in use. The user will then be able to easily and safely exit the lift on the bottom floor.

Once load shedding is over, you will then be able to start using your lift again.

As mentioned, South Africans have had to be very resourceful to mitigate the various problems that load shedding can cause in their daily lives. Inverters and solar power are two of the most popular solutions being put in place and this is great news for all current and new clients.

Due to the low energy consumption of our Home Lifts, they will be able to operate throughout load shedding if it is connected to an inverter or need to make use of solar power.

Home lift versatility

The Lifta Home Lift range provide many functions besides just being a people carrier. From transporting luggage, washing or even pets, the Lifta Home Lift range will ensure that your lives are made easier on a daily basis.
