A Lifta stairlift is a chair that travels along a rail close to the edge of the stairs. 

 

• The rail is attached to a few stair treads, not the wall.

• The chair is powered by means of a regular plug point in your home.
• It is supported by a powerful back-up battery which automatically recharges when not in use, so you need not worry in the event of a power cut.
• At the top of the stairs the chair swivels to face safely onto the top landing.
